Greetings Gardeners! The gardens are looking pretty great. Thank you for all your hard work. As you well know, keeping up the gardens is an ongoing task. If you would like to help, contact Julie Hicks to set up a time and find out what needs to be done.
OR... Just stop by and take a look. I'm sure you will find some weeds to pull and things that need to be done.
Come Have a Conversation about Early Hastings’ Black History
Come and learn about the history of the Aftican American community in Hastings and especially about Brown's Chapel and the prominent local Black Citizens that were part of Hastings. The presentation will be led by the group Building Remembrance for Reconciliation (BR4R) including Dr. Bill Spinelli and Heidi Langenfeld. They will be joined by James Curry, a descendant of those early residents.
After the presentation there will be a conversation about the story, impressions for future action, and any other ideas offered by the participants. We only ask that people bring their minds and an open heart.
